Based in <\/span>Aydie<\/b>, in <\/span>Damiens Estate<\/b>, on the emblematic lands of <\/span>Madiran<\/b>, Pierre-Michel Behe\u00efty is a winegrower deeply attached to his terroir and to working the vine.<\/span><\/p>\n Passionate about viticulture and winemaking, he trained for <\/span>five years in viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux<\/b>, before completing his path with training in agriculture and specialisations in <\/span>organic farming<\/b>, a direction that seemed essential to him for the future of viticulture.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The <\/span>Damiens Estate<\/b> originally belonged to his parents and operated in <\/span>mixed farming<\/b>. When Pierre-Michel takes over the farm at the time of their retirement, he chooses a change: to devote himself entirely to his passion, the vine.<\/span><\/p>\n The first steps towards organic farming begin <\/span>as early as 2008<\/b>. His father is convinced after a few years when he sees the benefits of these practices.<\/span><\/p>\n Today, the estate extends over <\/span>18 hectares of vines<\/b>. Three<\/span> hectares come from the previous generation as a memory<\/b> .Pierre-Michel replanted the rest <\/span>vine by vine<\/b>, with patience and determination.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pierre-Michel Behe\u00efty is one of the <\/span>winegrowers driving the organic conversion<\/b> in his area.<\/span><\/p>\n Very involved in the life of the appellation, he shared his research and his experiences with other producers. they are c<\/span>five winegrowers began their conversion together<\/b>, later inspiring other initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n In an appellation that has <\/span>some fifty winegrowers<\/b>, this organic choice has allowed the estate to develop a <\/span>distinctive and committed identity<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n To support this transition, Pierre-Michel carried out numerous <\/span>climatic and agronomic studies<\/b>, in order to adapt his practices as well as possible to his terroir.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Domaine Damiens remains above all <\/span>a family business<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Marie, Pierre-Michel\u2019s younger sister, works alongside him and supports him in:<\/span><\/p>\n An organisation that makes it possible to preserve the estate\u2019s identity while developing its presence among wine lovers.
