Domaine Stentz-Buecher – The pure expression of Alsace terroirs
Elegant Alsace wines to savour Aux 20 Plaisirs or to take away from the cellar
Located in Wettolsheim, in the heart of the Alsace vineyards, a few minutes from Colmar, the Domaine Stentz-Buecher embodies the excellence of Alsace's terroirs. Today run with passion by Céline and Stéphane Stentz, this family estate offers clean, upright and precise wines, revealing the full aromatic range of Alsace grape varieties.
A family heritage elevated by passion
The estate was originally a farm of 4 hectares taken over by Céline and Stéphane's parents. True to the family spirit, they gradually developed the holding to reach today 12 hectares of vines certified organic since 2010.
Deeply rooted in their region, Céline and Stéphane work with a single full-time employee, maintaining a human-scale wine culture that respects the terroir and its pace.
A unique terroir
The vineyards of Domaine Stentz-Buecher are planted on particularly dry hillsides, a geographic feature that gives the grapes a remarkable aromatic concentration.
90TP5T of the vineyards are located on slopes, which requires exacting work but gives the wines great finesse.
All Alsace grape varieties are grown there vinified on site with minimal intervention, from the first sorting to bottling, with particular attention to revealing the typicity of each grape variety and plot.
Also discover their grand crus Hengst, Steingrubler and Pfersigberg which in Alsace are privileged terroirs where geology, climate and exposure form an exceptional harmony.
Natural viticulture & controlled winemaking
The estate’s organisation is designed to work the wines as naturally as possible :
- harvest hand-picked
- cellar built according to the gravity-fed, to limit handling of the grapes
- respectful winemaking
- dry winemaking
This approach yields wines of great clarity, of a perfect balance and a remarkable aromatic purity that faithfully reflect the Alsace terroir.
The certification ORGANIC obtained in 2010 attests to the estate’s long-standing commitment to sustainable farming.
A close-knit family team
Stéphane, trained in vine-growing and oenology, returned to the estate to take charge of all stages, from the vineyard to winemaking.
Céline, his sister, joined him to manage administration and sales. Very active within the association Les Divines d’Alsace, , which brings together women in wine and the vine, it contributes to the estate's renown and the development of its network.
A predominantly French distribution
Today, 80 % of the estate's production is intended for French customers, distributed between private individuals and professionals. The wines of the Stentz-Buecher estate are distinguished by an excellent value for money and great versatility at the table.
They pair perfectly with a wide range of dishes, from fish to white meats as well as cold cuts and vegetables, not forgetting matured cheeses. They can be enjoyed in any season.
A strong visual identity
If you look closely at the labels, you will notice the emblem of the village of Wettolsheim, a tortoise, the symbolic animal passed down by their grandparents, representing longevity and purity — values that are perfectly reflected in the estate's wines.
An invitation to discover
